Silver Beach Cafe - Silver shining bright

Located next to Sterling Cinema, Silver Beach Cafe is one of those locations we often pass and think to ourselves 'that looks interesting, must go there soon' and promptly forget about it the next time we eat out. While brainstorming this year's anniversary dinner location we came across Silver Beach Cafe once again on the Wow Tables website and impressed with the menu decided to give it a go.

The Cafe itself is split into two levels with dining on both. However we recommend eating upstairs with it's warm wood paneling and high ceilings. The bar looks plenty impressive as well.

Soups @ Silver Beach Cafe, Fort

We started our meal with the Minestrone and Tomato and Basil soup. The Minestrone was hearty with a good quantity of vegetables thrown in, the Tomato soup more pedestrian and nothing special. Special mention to a certain pesto bread sticks which they served along with the soups. Must ask them if they sell those bread sticks separately.

Watermelon Feta Salad @ Silver Beach Cafe, Fort

Progressing forwards we ordered the Sambal paneer and Watermelon Feta Salad. At this point I must stop to mention the stellar service on their part. We had originally ordered a Caesar salad whose dressing we found very funny when served to us. A switch to the other salad was made without a fuss. It's become extremely rare to see service like this especially in stand alone restaurants and I commend the team at Silver Beach Cafe for this. The Sambar paneer lacked the fiery spice I associate with sambal and had a slightly sweetish taste to it. However it was enjoyable nonetheless. The Watermelon and feta salad while extremely filling could have used a slightly sharper feta, however this is just me nitpicking.

Fresh Fettucini Pasta @ Silver Beach Cafe, Fort
Garden Vegetable Shashlik With Creamy Saffron Cous Cous @ Silver Beach Cafe, Fort

Our Main course consisted of a Fresh fettuccine Pasta for A while I decided to be adventurous and go for the Garden Vegetable Shashlik With Creamy Saffron Cous Cous. The Pasta was extremely flavorful and is something I would recommend to anyone visiting Silver Beach Cafe. The Cous Cous on the other hand had an overwhelming flavor of saffron and is a definite avoid. It also reinforced my belief that maybe Cous Cous is a dish me and A should just leave alone. Twice burned third time shy I guess.

Choco Lava Cake with Ice Cream @ Silver Beach Cafe, Fort

Already quite stuffed from having all these dishes we decided to only have a single desert with the other one packed for home. We are glad we chose the Molten Lava cake to end the meal with its surprise burst of cinnamon tingling our palate in the best way possible. The desert we carried home was demolished by the father soon after who liked the Hazelnut Mousse flavour it had.

The cost of this Wow tables experience is Rs. 1200 inclusive of tax. Totally worth it in my books for the sheer quality of food on offer. We could hardly walk once done.

With Service that was top notch and food that impressed us, Silver Beach Cafe is a restaurant I'm going to be visiting far more often. Now to just find out if they retail those pesto breadsticks.

P.S. Apologies for the poor photos, the lighting was quite dim and they all ended up being a bit blurry :(
