Running helter skelter from and to class all the way from Clear Water Bay can become quite taxing at times. Trying to figure out food amongst all that honestly becomes a bit of a nightmare. Especially for us vegetarians.
I decided to try out the Tofu and Eggplant Burger at Cafe Habitu which is located at Hutchinson House when the craving struck one day just before class. It came nicely wrapped in butter paper inside a brown paper bag. Top marks for that for sure.
On a purely aesthetic note through the bun with all the seeds on topped looked extremely appetising. One bite into the burger though and I was craving more flavour from the fillings in the middle. The eggplant and tofu seemed a bit under seasoned. If I had decided to stay at Cafe Habitu and eat it perhaps a bit of salt would have helped. From a take away point of view though it was extremely disappointing. Is it just me or do I have bad luck with burgers recently? Perhaps I am just expecting too much from them? I am not sure, however if this becomes a regular thing with the Veg Burgers I am trying out in Hong Kong perhaps its me? Well coming back to the burger, even though it was on the blander side it tasted supremely healthy. That has to be a good thing right?
This review has left me with more questions than answers. I probably won't be going back the burger soon. In terms of price the hit to the wallet was 58 HKD.
The lasagna looked interesting, maybe that will be the next item I try.
My class is at Hutchinson house btw and I would love suggestions about where to grab Veg food around here.
